Qingshan temple, founded in the Tang Dynasty, was issued by Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty and supervised by Prime Minister Wei Zheng. It is a famous Millennium ancient temple in Northern Jiangsu. It was the most prosperous in the Tang and Song dynasties. It was once said that "there is Jinshan Temple in the South and Qingshan Temple in the north". Su Dongpo, a great writer of the Song Dynasty, once visited Qingshan temple with his friends such as Qin Shaoyou and Huang Tingjian, and left here the eternal saying "wine is sold across the bridge, and tea is boiled in the spring behind the Qingshan Temple", which makes Qingshan Temple more famous. The granite statue with a total height of 3.6 meters erected on the north side of the temple is inspired by Su Dongpo's eternal good sentences, which fully reproduces the scene of Su Dongpo and Buddhist seal masters drinking and writing poetry on that day.
